Wise Old Writers like to write — and see their efforts in print. The site’s owner, Jane Dyer Anderson, is a retired journalist.
I’m an old-fashioned writer and editor. I believe in fixing spelling and grammatical errors. Over-use of f-words and nasty replies will not go on the site.
Some stories qualify as unethical to print. An example of what is NOT printable would be an article that claims Covid is caused by vitamin tablets. The hypothesis could be true, but it’s 99.99% probably false, and the writer would have the gargantuan, scientific task of proving otherwise. Until then, it’s an example of fake news that no one wants to spread.
To begin, WOW will have a section for 1. Non-fiction (“woke” not even in the vocabulary), 2. The Book Club, 3. Movie Night (includes TV shows), 4. Fiction and poetry. 5. Advice from Rose Rustik.
The Book Club will be a little different. Readers may suggest books, write their own reviews and comment on other readers’ reviews. No one has to read a prescribed list of books.
Movie Night will feature WOW readers’ reviews and recommendations of movies and TV shows..
Short Fiction and Poetry.
